Celebration of Pasifika Learning

Last Thursday our Pasifika group from Wigram Primary School went to Hornby High to take part in the Uru Manuka Fiafia night.

Two students from each school were presented with a certificate to recognise outstanding progress and achievement and leadership. The students from Wigram were Lita Tito and Ofa Tuifua - well done girls!

Explain Everything - show what you have learnt this week about...

In reading this week the Kiwikiwi and Karaka reading groups have been reading non-fiction texts about spiders, insects and living dinosaurs.

We have explored the texts to ask and answer questions about these creatures and the children chose to share their learning using Explain Everything.

We shared them today and have given feedback to each other about what worked well how we could improve them next time.

Reading: Kōwhiringa Use your Imagination

This week some of our Kōwhiringa learners read about a girl called Clare who went on an adventure leaving the library.

The learners were challenged to create a map of her journey. They could do this any way they saw fit.
