Mawhero Reading Group: Dancing Bees

This week the Mawhero reading group decided to make a video to demonstrate what they have learnt about Bees and how they communicate with other Bees. They have done such an awesome job, well done Mawhero. We hope you enjoy the video as much as Mawhero enjoyed making it.

A visit to the new site!!

The new school is on the way!

After school today the teachers went to visit the site of the new school. We all had to wear hard hats and high vis jackets as part of the safety requirements. It was great to walk on the concrete pad and get a feel for the spaces we will have at the new school. 

Looking forward to visiting it again in a few weeks!

As part of our iPad learning we worked with Miss Morgan today identifying what safe information we can share online. The children used the QR Code reader to find out what information 2 characters gave. We then talked about if it was private or personal information and whether you should share it with people we do not know.

Cyber Safety: How to do a safe search on Google:

Over the last couple of weeks the children in Kōtuku have been learning how to do safe searches on Google.

The children had to find a range of images from Google that they could modify and reuse without breaking copyright.

Once they had found the images they then they imported and changed them on Explain Everything.
